Annual review 2021

2021 is coming to an end, the year passed away again so quick ! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Due to the covid measures, it was already quite a challenge to keep my job going in a "normal" way this year, but the weather also showed its worst side ๐Ÿ˜… I had to postpone some photo shoots, but especially a lot of workshops and participation days. Despite this, I did take quite an arsenal of fun photos throughout the year. I am sharing some of my favourite images per month with some fun anecdotes. ๐Ÿ˜ ย ย

January

My first shoot of the year didn't have to wait long, on 2 January Toby bit the bullet and was my first model of the year. ๐Ÿ˜
January also saw the first snow. โ„๏ธ Those who know me a little know that I am a HUGE snow lover. โ˜ƒ๏ธ When the first snow flakes fell in Belgium, I headed for the Ardennes with my four-legged friends. Of course my camera came along and I took some nice portraits of my sweethearts. When snow fell in Flanders too, I made an appeal for a nice couple and that's how I met Laura and her fantastic Finnish Lappenhund. Immediately another dog breed to tick off my list. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Not a month went by without a fun workshop or follow-along day. ๐Ÿ˜ In January, I gave a private "children and animals" photography workshop. Oa Vince and his cool dog Copain were models at a beautiful castle.ย

February

In February, the time had finally come! My handsome ร“liver finally flew over from Iceland to Belgium. Something I had been looking forward to for 3 years. ๐Ÿคฉ It wasn't long before some snow fell again. Of course, I took advantage of that. Not only ร“liver but Joker, Solfari, Mjรถnir Locita, Yana, Hope and several other four-legged friends were modelling in the snow โ˜ƒ๏ธ

In late February, Tamaskans Jules and Nell were still shining in a beautiful morning sun. The fog added an extra magical atmosphere in the process. ๐Ÿฅฐ Another dog breed to tick off ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿปโœ…

March

March started off not so nice, at least emotionally. For we got the bad news that our faithful four-legged friend Max had a nasal tumour. How long he had was still a question mark.... So March saw several days of vet clinic and I enjoyed extra quality time with Max. โค๏ธ

We also planned some private workshops and fun portfolio shoots.

March did not start well but only really ended in a minor way.... What was still a super pleasant day by the sea in the morning, ended with a very hard decision... Letting Max go after a terrible epileptic seizure... His tumour had spread to his brain after just 3 weeks. ๐Ÿ’” Still the most terrible day of 2021. ๐Ÿ˜ข

April

Defeated by the loss of Max, I took some me-time in April. I did some portfolio shoots with girlfriends and several workshops were scheduled.ย

One of my favourite photos this year I took in April. My dear fellow photographer, and also good friend Skrรคllan, and I basically went to photograph a Magnolia tree. However, it turned out that it was no longer in bloom. Last-minute we changed location and WOW what beautiful light we had there! ๐Ÿ˜ Laura with Finnish Lappenhun Mocha and Talia with her 2 sheltis modeled for us at this beautiful location.ย

May

May was a nice and busy month! Private workshops, taster days, photo shoots and a photo walk in the Ardennes were on the agenda. ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Silently, the landscape began to regain some colour and beautiful flowers began to emerge. Enjoy my favourite pictures of May. ๐Ÿฅฐ

June

Unfortunately, the poppy field I had sown was not yet in flower in June. So I sought out another field together with colleague/friend Kim. Isabeau and her handsome PRE were one of the beautiful little models we photographed that evening.ย

The second photo walk in the Ardennes also became a reality. Because of the weather we almost moved it โ›ˆ but after a joint decision among the course participants we decided to go ahead anyway. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

In June, I got to add another dog breed to my list. Reva, a Catahoula leopard dog, was a model during a private walk-in day. As you can see, she poses like the best. ๐Ÿฅฐ

July

Due to the bad weather in spring, I had to change the date of many workshops and walk-in days. ๐Ÿ˜… So in July, there were a lot of workshops/mid-days to catch up on scheduled, along with a few more sunny photo shoots. ๐Ÿฅฐ

The end of July was finally here. My sown field of poppies was in bloom ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿฅณ

My top model Kyle and cat Gimli got to spearhead the many fun poppy photo shoots.ย

August

August is traditionally always a very busy month because of the beautiful heather that blooms then. Combine that with your own field of poppies in bloom.... Yes, you can imagine, right? ๐Ÿ™Š

In August, I was also presented with a beautiful location during a photo shoot. My clients had found a beautiful lavender field where they got permission to photograph with horses. Still a bit of a dream come true as that had been on my "photography bucket list"๐Ÿฅฐ for a long time.

I also took on an additional challenge, as I was asked to create a maternity photo shoot integrating the dog. Without much experience in maternity photography, we started the photo shoot. If I do say so myself, what beautiful images came out of it! Secretly, I discovered another branch of photography that also suits me very well! Who knows, maybe there's a future in that... ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธย

So lots of pictures to share from August! Enjoy my favourites from this month. ๐Ÿ˜

September

September was perhaps the most fun month of the year, WANT Jikke and I made our preparation trip for our photography trip to Iceland next year. ๐Ÿคฉ

September started with some photo shoots, just before the annual holiday with my boyfriend and our dogs started.ย

September started with a few photo shoots, just before the annual holiday with my boyfriend and our dogs started.I was not home for long, as a week later I left for Iceland again.ย ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ธ With the first storms and bad weather, it was truly a challenge. But wow, what beautiful models we had in front of our lens! We are already looking forward to next year. ๐Ÿคฉ

October

October became another busy month. As such, the autumn period is my favourite time of the year. ๐Ÿ˜

My little girl Hope turned 2 and another fun litter photo shoot was already scheduled. Some fun photoshoots, walk-in days and already the last photo walk of the year.

Choosing between all those cute pictures was very difficult, so stick to a little photo spam. ๐Ÿ™Šย

November

November started with final autumn photo shoots and quietly I started the first Christmas photo shoots ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ˜.

December

Traditionally a month with a few less photo shoots on the schedule but nevertheless a month in which I did not sit still. ๐Ÿ˜

During the winter months, course participants like to come over to brush up on their photoshop skills. This month, too, I welcomed quite a few motivated people. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

Some wonderful winter sessions were also scheduled this month. Did you know that, after autumn, winter is my favourite season? ๐Ÿ˜ After another super fun litter photo shoot with the Flaxblossoms puppies, traditionally in Christmas outfits, and some (Christmas) photo shoots on the moors, I concluded my photo season this year. ๐ŸŽ„โค๏ธ
